Dr. Alex Feng, LAc, PhD, OMD, studied Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) with masters in China and Japan, and has a Doctorate in Oriental Medicine from Samra University in Los Angeles. He has been treating people in the Bay Area for more than 35 years, where he has built a reputation as a skilled, caring practitioner.

He is triple board certified by the NCCAOM in acupuncture, herbology and body work.
Dr. Feng was formerly on the faculty of the Oakland acupuncture school, the Academy of Chinese Culture and Health Sciences. He has served the TCM community in the U.S. as past Chairman of the National Commission for Certification of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, and also as a consultant to the California Acupuncture Exam Sub-Committee. He lectures at Highland Hospital Medical Residency Program, UC Berkeley and Contra Costa Community College. In collaboration with the Alta Bates Integrative Medicine Center, he teaches qi gong to people living with cancer and is working with Dr. Amy Matecki to develop a truly integrative approach to health care delivery.
He was recognized in 1997 by San Francisco Focus magazine as one of the best practitioners of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Northern California. He is currently staff Acupuncturist at San Francisco’s Chinese Hospital, Sunset Services and assistant professor at Contra Costa College where he teaches medical qi gong. He has mentored scores of students and newly graduated acupuncturists in his Clinic and lectures widely in various TCM topics.
An experienced acupuncturist, herbologist and medical qi gong master, Dr. Feng sees patients three days a week at Zhi Dao Guan’s Clinic for Traditional Chinese Medicine. He is also on the staff of Chinese Hospital in San Francisco.
Initial appointments take 1 to 1 1/2 hours and follow up appointments 45 minutes to an hour. Dr. Feng may use acupuncture, acupressure, qi gong, and/or herbs. The clinic has a range of patent and raw herbs for formulas custom prepared by Dr. Feng.
