Beyond the 4 Corners of the Feet
Yamuna Foot Fitness

The 4 corners of the feet is a concept used in yoga and other modalities.

But does learning just about these points of the feet help us to better stand, do yoga, walk, run, jump, etc.?

Yamuna Zake is the creator of Yamuna Body Rolling and Yamuna Foot Fitness. Owning one of the first yoga studios ever in NYC, she is steeped in this tradition. Now she delivers to the yoga community (and beyond) something incredibly new, simple, and valuable.

Most people don’t use their foot the way it was designed. Parts of the feet are inactive, parts of the feet not intended to be on the ground are collapsed, bones that were meant to articulate are jammed, or we walk more forward or more backward on our feet.

If you have foot pain, collapsed arches, high arches, neuromas, bunions, hammer toes, heel spurs, or just tight and inflexible feet – or calves – you are probably not even using all 4 corners of the feet, despite trying.

Restructure your feet and not only will your yoga improve, but your posture will be naturally correct, your energy will be flowing, and you will feel strong and vital. As one of my students says, “This is the next frontier.”

Our hips are probably one of the most problematic parts of our bodies.

The hips connect the upper and lower parts of our body, and get over used whether we’re sitting, standing, walking, jumping or running – even when we’re sleeping on our side.
